BIBLE STUDY: WHO IS GOD? HOW TO KNOW GOD AND GET SALVATION


                 So before we get started with our bible study we have to do a short prayer asking God to give us the understanding and the knowledge to understand and remember what we are about to  study. So take the time you need to say your prayed.



NOW THAT YOU ARE SET LETS GET STARTED...


          Give thanks to the lord, for he is good!
     His faithful love endured forever.
    Has the lord redeemed you? then speak out!
 tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies.

Redeemed = rescued from their trouble 

  • How do we know God is good?
         God sent his only son to die for our sin so that we can be forgiven. If Jesus would have sinned and/ given in when satan was tempting him when he was in the desert for 40 days Jesus wouldn't been able to enter the kingdom of heaven again. God knew the risks but he loves us so much and trusted Jesus that he risked his son for us. Also in the verse we just read it says that he has redeemed us from our enemies.  You can find this verse on..

                          "But anyone who does not love does not know for God is love."

 In the bible it says that God is love not once but twice.

 In the bible they also talk about a New commandment that Jesus gave to his disciple on the last supper.
Do you remember the first time your mom or dad was going to leave you alone in the house for the first time that they start with a list, don't do this don't do that, my number is here, don't open the door to anyone? well Jesus was like this. He knew he was going to leave and that was going to be the last time he was going to eat with his disciples, so he said this.

SO NOW I AM GIVING YOU A NEW COMMANDMENT: LOVE EACH OTHER JUST AS I HAVE LOVED YOU , YOU SHOULD LOVE EACH OTHER.

 That verse also tells us that God is and always will be good, and how to get salvation.


TEN COMMANDMENTS

  1. You shall have no other gods before Me.
  2. You shall not make idols.
  3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.
  4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
  5. Honor your father and your mother.
  6. You shall not murder.
  7. You shall not commit adultery.
  8. You shall not steal.
  9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
  10. You shall not covet.

  And right under number 10 we can add Love each other.

11. Love each other

 God loves us so he gave us rules to live the way he wants us to live. This is the way we will live in heaven. so follow these rules they are not hard and if you have sinned then repent and ask for forgiveness because just like our parents he will always forgive his children's.

FOR GOD WE ARE NOT SERVANTS OR SLAVES WE ARE HIS FRIENDS AND BY PRAYING AND STUDYING THE BIBLE OUR FRIENDSHIP WITH GOD GROWS.
