BIBLE STUDY: JAMES 1 :19 PART 1

 Today we are going to study a chapter called "Listening and Doing". James 1:19-21
 Before we star the study lets go ahead and pray to the Holy Spirit to come to us and give us the understanding and knowledge that we need to understand what we are about to study.

  Understand this, my dear brother and sister: you must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.

                                   James 1:19

If we are not 

QUICK TO LISTEN =LACK OF LISTENING

SLOW TO SPEAK= LACK OF RESTRAIN IN SPEAK

                                    will result in

SLOW TO ANGER = ILL TEMPERED ACTIONS   

- Not all anger is sinful, but the quick tempered , selfish anger betrays the trust in God and a lack of love for others.

    Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires.

                                               James 1:20

This verse speaks about Human Anger and how that's not what God desires because God is Holy. He wants his people to Imitate him. (EPHESIANS 5:1)

 

   -God is holy and righteous 

           * He wants his people to imitate or copy his righteous character.

                                                                  -righteous : In the sence of conducting our life by the                                                                     will of God, according to his standards.

   So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your soul.

                                                   James 1:21

* we need to get rid of all the bad habits and behavior in our life that does not pleases God.

                 - Think of this like throwing away dirty clothes and never looking back.

* we need to let go of all evil in our hearts (hatred, jealousy, ect)

*We need to accept Gods word. The word he has planted in our hearts.

    - His commandments , love each other, no jealousy, no greed, no sexual sin.

If we do these things it will save our soul!

( When God comes for his people you will be saved.)
