BIBLE STUDY: JAMES 1 : 26-27 PART 3
Hey guys so today we are going to to finish our 3 part study bible on James 1, but before we go on in our study Grab your bible a pen and a journal and lets pray. Pray for the Holy spirit to come to you and teach you and to give you the knowledge that you need to understand this study.
Once you are done we can start.
If you claim to be religious but don't control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.
James 1:26 & 27
* Pure and genuine religion to the sigh of God is showing that you care and controlling your tongue. That means choosing your words carefully when speaking to anyone.
On the OT ( Deut 10:18; Isa 1:17; Jer 7 :5-7)they talked about orphans and widows and how he shows mercy and love for those people because they were particularly in a helpless state.
* REFUSING TO LET THE WORLD CORRUPT YOU: This is not letting other people get to you. People that try to tell you that "ONE" drink is nothing or that this song means nothing or that lying is okay because it was a "WHITE" lie. Those people will corrupt you and not only them but social media too. Social media will tell you how your supposed to look like to be considered "PRETTY" and spreading Gossip about someone s life that is non of our business.
Things like this will corrupt us. If you let this happen one day you will look back and notice how distant from God you are because you let the world get to your head.
So stay away from the unholy things,worldly things, things that you know in your heart God doesn't like.
I know this was a short bible study but that's it for today. Before we close our bible lets pray and thank the Holy Spirit for being here with us and teaching us something. Lets pray that we remember everything we learned and that we are able to keep learning more.
