Remembering Gods promise to His people. Gen 9:12-17

When we think of the book of genesis we instinctively think the creation of the world but in that book there is also destruction, all done by God. But we also see God's pain with the people, the people who cause the destruction because of their actions. We see God's regret when he said, " My spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortals; their days will be a hundred and twenty years" in 6:3.And then again, " The Lord REGRETTED that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled" on 6:6.

Then came the flood, where humans and animals alike died, except for Noah and his family who believed and had faith. But after all was set and done God made a covenant between him and his people that he would never bring water to the earth to destroy all living creatures, so he set a rainbow to remember his covenant between Him and all living creatures.   The Book of Genesis | ISOW tumblr rainbow road - Roblox

12 And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”

17 So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.”

After a storm when we see a rainbow we know that there will be no more rain, right?.  But did we also know what that unearthly beauty's purpose was? to be honest I didn't know until the other day and it feels so liberating and reassuring to know that God has us in mind. After the Flood he felt bad for all the deaths and destruction, that he made a promise to never send destruction towards the earth again and he sent us the rainbow.

From this scripture we can also see how God is at work in our lives daily. whether we are going through turbulence, a hailstorm (spiritually), we need to remember that their is always a rainbow at the end of the storm. you will come out stronger than when you went into it. God's promise to never let go of us even when we are doing the un-perfect in his perfect state, he knows that we are not perfect but he encourages us to see the rainbow at the end of the storm. Some might say the light at the end of the tunnel but it all means the same lol.

Understand that God is not human to break promises, he has our back through everything that is going on right now in the world and at all times but we need to make sure that our priority is to please him. God will never let go of you but you need to make sure you don't let go of him.

Thank you so much for taking time out of your bay to read this message!

God bless!
